We are excited to announce our plans for the summer. But no, it is not a camp. We are finally bringing you what you really need to develop your player. Instead of us offering a week-long camp where your player may receive general information about each position, we are offering position specific workouts or practices; however you want to describe it, they will be hard nose dirt bag work outs. These workouts will be conducted by our Centerfield Staff. All of our staff members coach in very successful baseball clubs at the highest level of play that is offered at each age group. That being said, we want to offer you our strategy on how to develop players.
Daily Protocol
Each day, we will have a different primary position workout, which will be the main focus of the day and we will work on that until we are satisfied that each player has had the opportunity to perform and receive the information that will help them. Then with the remaining time left, if any, we will work on outfield play and take batting practice. So, our goal is to have each player go through their primary position and hopefully get to take some batting practice and outfield work each day. For players playing multiple positions, this will allow you to concentrate on one position each day and not have to worry about splitting time between positions or standing at a station and loosing valuable repetitions. For players that only play 1 position, this is the remedy to not have to pay the entire cost of a camp just to get 15 minutes of time at your specific position.
Benefits
•
Groups are smaller
•
All information each day will apply to every player in attendance
•
We will challenge the players more than in a camp situation
•
Staff will not have to worry about disappointing anyone for not covering their specific position enough
Question: What skill level does the player have to have?
Answer: We expect them to be able to throw, catch and field ground balls. We will go over basic fundamentals, but we will progress into more details very fast in our workouts.
Question: Will it be split by age group?
Answer: No, everyone will work out together. We will monitor ages for safety issues only, not skill level. We have always been focused on safety and that will not change.
